Terms of service

These terms cover your use of DR Buddy at drbuddy.app. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use DR Buddy.

The service

DR Buddy shows the Domain Rating (DR) of websites, charts how it changes, checks that backlinks you list are still in place, and, on Pro, scores sites you're considering for links and finds sites linking to you. We may add, change or remove features over time.

Your account

• You need a valid email address to sign up, and you're responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens in your account.
• Only track domains and monitor links you have a legitimate reason to follow, such as your own sites or sites you work on.
• Please keep your details accurate so we can reach you about your account.

Fair use

Please don't misuse DR Buddy. That includes trying to get around plan limits or lookup limits, scraping or reselling our data, running automated lookups, interfering with the service or other users, or using it for anything illegal. We may limit or close accounts that do.

Free plan and Pro

• The free plan has the limits shown on our pricing page. We may change free plan limits, and will try to give notice of changes that affect you.
• Pro is a subscription billed monthly or yearly through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, which handles payment, tax and invoices. It renews automatically until you cancel.
• You can cancel any time from the billing page. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, and then your account returns to the free plan. Data over the free limits stays in your account but you won't be able to add more until you're back under them.
• If something went wrong with a charge, contact us and we'll sort it out fairly. Refunds are handled through Lemon Squeezy.
• We'll give at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of an existing subscription.

Data from third parties

Domain Rating comes from Ahrefs, and Authority score, spam score and backlink data come from DataForSEO. We show this data as we receive it and can't guarantee it's complete, current or accurate. DR is Ahrefs' own measure, not a Google ranking factor, and DR Buddy doesn't promise any change in your rankings, traffic or DR.

Link checks and scans

We check monitored links regularly and on request, but some sites block automated checks or change without warning, so checks are best-effort. Backlink scans list what DataForSEO's index has found, which may miss new or small links. Our sorting of sites into "worth monitoring", "not sure" and "probably junk" is guidance, not a guarantee about any site.

Your content

The domains, links and notes you add stay yours. You let us store and process them to run the service for you, as described in our privacy policy. Domain Rating information about any domain may appear on public DR pages.

Availability

We work to keep DR Buddy running smoothly, but it's provided "as is" and may sometimes be unavailable, for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, such as our data providers being down.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, DR Buddy isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost rankings or decisions made on the basis of data shown in the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.

Closing your account

You can stop using DR Buddy at any time, and ask us to delete your account through the contact form. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and will explain why where we can.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll let account holders know by email before they take effect. Continuing to use DR Buddy after that means you accept the new terms.
